Article Catalog
The Article Catalog is a special block of pages with extended functionality. Each article has a short description, displayed as a list with a link to view the full text. Articles can be grouped into categories for easier navigation.
Article lists can be displayed not only within categories — if needed, separate lists can be created using the «Article Catalog» widget.
Creating Categories
Before adding new articles, it is recommended to first create a list of categories. This can be done in the «Article Catalog → Article Catalog Categories» section.
Languages and Multilingual Support
The path to an article contains the specified language and category. For example:
/en/blog/category_name/123.htm — English version, in the «category_name» category./en/blog/category_name/ — a list of all articles in the «category_name» category.
Multilingual support is implemented via the «Article in Other Languages» parameter.
If you create article 12345 in multiple languages, specify the same value for this parameter (usually the ID of the first article, which will serve as the base for translations).
Scheduled Publication
The scheduled publication feature lets you prepare an article in advance and set it to go live automatically at the desired date and time. This is convenient for maintaining a content plan and regularly promoting your blog: materials are published without constant manual control.
How does it work?
The entire automation process takes just a few seconds and consists of three simple steps:
- Set the time: when adding an article, specify the desired future date and time for its release.
- Activate the feature: check the box for «Scheduled publication».
- Turn off publication access: to keep the article hidden until the specified publishing date arrives.
After saving, the system saves your settings, and the article automatically appears on the website exactly at the scheduled time.
Caching
The BooStore platform uses an intelligent caching system. It speeds up site performance by saving the results of all requests, including the display of pages and article lists.
How does caching work?
- Cache is cleared automatically.
- For certain elements (e.g., widgets or article lists), updates may occur with a slight delay.
What to do if the page data hasn’t updated
- Open the page where the widget with articles or the catalog category is located.
- If changes do not appear, in the admin panel (bottom left), click the «Clear Cache» button.
Browser Cache
In addition to system caching, the browser also stores images. After replacing images, you may need to:
- Press Ctrl + F5 to force-refresh the page.
- Or manually clear the browser cache.
Articles Widget
The Articles widget lets you place one or more articles in any location on your website — on the home page, in a sidebar, in the footer, or on any other page. It is a convenient way to draw visitors' attention to important content and improve internal linking.
What does it allow?
- Place articles anywhere: insert individual articles or their lists into any block of the site.
- Flexible content selection: show articles from chosen categories or a specific article by ID.
- Appearance settings: control the number, order, and styling of the displayed articles.
Open the widget builder: Blog pages slider (blog_pages_slider).
